I don’t know if any of you ever read the Atlanta Journal Constitution, but on the front page of the AJC on Thursday, March 6, 2008 was a story about a little nine-year old girl in Georgia named Hannah Poling. Her story is significant because she has autism, and now, for the first time ever, government officials are conceding that childhood vaccines contributed to the problem. [Read more →]

Chiropractor Advice - Tips for Buying The Right Mattress and a Better Nights Sleep
April 3rd, 2008 · No Comments
I received this e-mail the other day from one of my patients and since this is a question that I get asked a lot, I thought I would share my response with everyone.
Hello Dr. Steve
How are you? Well I think our current mattress may be at the end. Can you recommend any brands / types? I saw the following this weekend but I am not sure it would be recommended for my back (body) situation.
It was a Sealy Posturepedic Stelingshire firm (Costco).
Can you provide any advice/direction on this matter?
Thanks in advance. Marcos

January 4th, 2008 · No Comments
What Exactly IS the Carpal Tunnel?
First of all, “Carpal” simply means WRIST. The Carpal Tunnel is a small tunnel or canal inside the wrist. The top part is formed by the carpal (wrist) bones. The bottom part is made up a ligament—a tough band of connective tissue called the Flexor Retinaculum.
There Are 3 Structures Inside The Carpal Tunnel :
- The Median Nerve – controls some hand movement and sensation
- Nine “flexor” tendons that enable you to curl your wrist and fingers
- Blood vessels
TRUE Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Comes From Compression of the Median Nerve Within the Carpal Tunnel.
What few people seem to be told… [Read more →]

The #1 Reason Why Carpal Tunnel Treatments FAIL!
Fortunately for you, if your doctors’ treatments fail, it doesn’t mean you’re incurable. It may be quite likely they were just looking in the wrong place or simply not using the right treatment!
It seems that a huge part of the problem is doctors are so focused on the wrist that they overlook something so incredibly obvious it tends to shock carpal tunnel syndrome sufferers! You see, in order for pain to travel to your brain it has to take a pathway. It needs a road to get there just like you need to take a road to get to your job in the morning. In your body, this road is called your nervous system. And, the weird thing about nerves is if you interfere with the nervous system anywhere along its “road’ it can make you feel pain in other places…like your wrist, hand and fingers! This means it’s possible that…. [Read more →]

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Myths - The Carpal Tunnel Myth, Part 2
December 17th, 2007 · No Comments
Myth: Ongoing Use of Medications Is Safe And Reasonable Treatment.
Reality: Treating a condition, just by taking drugs, is not only weak at best, but possibly dangerous. I’m amazed how few patients and doctors take drug side effects seriously. YOU should!! Drugs are not the answer and should not be used as an ongoing form of treatment.
Myth: The Ongoing Use of Wrist Splints Is Proper Treatment.
Reality: Wearing wrist splints may seem harmless enough, but they are not a cure. In fact, if you’re only supposed to wear them when you’re in pain, as you get worse you’ll end up wearing the wrist splints more and more. Using them as a crutch will only lead to the formation of abnormal scar tissue in your wrist, making your pain worse and your mobility less! [Read more →]
